SYNOPSIS



Created and executive-produced by Emmy Award-winning writer Linwood Boomer, this inventive half-hour series is seen through the eyes of MALCOLM (Frankie Muniz), a regular high school kid trying to navigate his way through life despite the various obstacles thrown in his way – a complete misunderstanding of girls, the constant burden of masterminding plans to get himself and his brothers into or out of trouble, and a miserable job at the Lucky Aide… not to mention a severe case of teen angst.

Although Malcolm has a genius IQ, he can’t seem to make sense of the opposite sex, much less his embarrassing family. LOIS (Jane Kaczmarek) is the outspoken, opinionated mom, who still manages to rule the roost even though her boys are growing wise to her crafty ways. HAL (Bryan Cranston), a dad who is just a bumbling, big kid at heart, often finds himself creating more chaos than his five boys combined. REESE (Justin Berfield) has mastered the art of a perfect blank stare, and makes up for his lack of intelligence with deviance. .

Malcolm in the Middle

  A highly appreciated American sitcom, Malcolm in the middle had seven series and won seven Emmy Awards and one Grammy; it was also nominated for Golden Globes seven times.

  Malcolm, the third born of four initially, then of five children, is an adolescent genius and also an eccentric with an IQ of 165 has a problem with social life; that is why he spends too much time in the middle of his family. However, he has a best friend by the name of Stevie Kernarban, another genius like himself. He also has a certain number of short-term girlfriends along the series.

  As he is a fairly active person, Malcolm has five jobs in the series. First, he is a baby-sitter for a wealthy family; he gets that job only to be able to buy a robotic kit he likes. However, as he realizes that the family is spying on him, he quits. If you watch the Malcolm in the Middle DVD or a Blu-Ray you will see that sometime in the middle of the series he will have another job, at the Lucky Aide, with his friend Lois who can keep him under control in this way. Later, when he is about to graduate, he again quits and we can see him working as a janitor at Harvard in the final episode. Thus he can pay for his tuition.

  In the final part we understand that Malcolm’s parents do not really want him to be happy, though at the time of his high-school graduation they had really daring plans for him, such as to become the president. That’s why they force him to stick to a plan including attending Harvard. He doesn’t want to spend the rest of his life showing off how smart he is but he still channels his energies towards building a political career. He accepts the plan that has been devised for him though no one in the family has ever asked for his opinion.

  The Malcolm in the Middle Bluray will take you into the intricate world of Malcolm’s feelings and will certainly teach you or your kids a lesson. Besides the plot, there is something very interesting about this TV series. Each episode starts with a cold open that has nothing to do with the main story. Let us not forget the humorous parts of the series which will certainly entertain all of your family.
